To all the female entrepreneurs who are avoiding the decision to scale their business massively, this is my story……….
There was a significant change happening in my life.
I had to reduce my working hours & earn the same amount of money.
It freaked me out!
How was I going to do that?
I got pregnant with my first baby.
And the problem with my business was;
I was running my business ALONE at that time.
“How was I supposed to get my firstborn, and run my business (basically my VERY first baby) at the same time?”
I had to step up and employ my 1st employee for four months.
It made me very insecure about the whole process.
But I did it anyway.
And my first worker did very well.
She stayed on.
After decades of experience and many employees later
(leading my very own team of 25) I sold that business.
Also, I thought I never wanted to have a team anymore.
I decided to run a new one-woman business.
And I loved it;
I was accountable for EVERYTHING.
– develop my webpages
– design my visuals
– write compelling copy
I was that female entrepreneur who did everything on my own.
In the beginning, there was a rush of being proud of myself.
I am capable of…
Learning so many new skills.
Yet it never looked as good as I had in mind.
I felt frustrated because it cost me a lot of time…
All of this took me away from the most important thing!
Sounds familiar?
Being busy with everything except sales?!
I have a team of people working for me again. Also, I saw that there were NO GROWTH opportunities when I continued doing everything myself.
I am a business coach for women, and this is what I see happing with most of the female entrepreneurs I start to work with:
They know they want to grow their business.
AND THEY DON’T KNOW HOW EXACTLY
They see other businesses with teams and believe that is the way,
Female entrepreneurs have many objections about the topic;
HIRING AND OUTSOURCING.
These are some of the objections I hear a lot:
All these objections are very valid to these female entrepreneurs.
They always are. Yet there is also the ambition and drive to do great things. They feel, just like I did that they need to grow their business.
And to ALL female entrepreneurs, I say from the bottom of my heart
“Get out of your comfort zone, stop investing in more skills, start investing in people”.
